EMU Regents approve one lecturer appointment, six lecturer promotions

YPSILANTI — The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approved the appointment of one new lecturer and promoted six others at its regular meeting June 17.

The new lecturer appointment is effective Sept. 1, 2008.

The new lecturer is:

  • Laura Martinez, lecturer I, social work. Before coming to EMU, Martinez was a social worker for Strong Families/Safe Children Division of the Wayne County Family Independent Agency from 2001-2008. Martinez received both her master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in social work from Eastern Michigan University.

 The six current lecturers who were promoted and their new titles are:

  • Mona Diane Benton, of Ypsilanti, lecturer II, English language and literature;
  • Mary Jo Clemente, of Plymouth, lecturer II, academic services;
  • Robin Dec, of Temperance, lecturer II, technology studies;
  • Andre Peltier, lecturer II, English language and literature;
  • Karen Dykstra, of Ann Arbor, lecturer II, English language and literature;
  • Kelly Victor, lecturer II, geography and geology.
