Valvo elected chair of EMU Board of Regents
YPSILANTI - Karen Valvo, a partner in the law firm of Reach, Ranney & Carpenter, PC in Ann Arbor, was elected chair of the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents at its regular meeting June 21.
Thomas Sidlik, of Ann Arbor, was elected vice chair. He was appointed to the Board in 2004. Sidlik has been a member of the Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler AG since December 1998. Since 2003, he has been responsible for Global Procurement and Supply. The board voted earlier in the same meeting to modify the bylaws governing board elections so that the chair and vice chair are limited to one, two-year term. The next election will be in 2007. Steve Holda, EMU interim director of finance, was elected treasurer to the board. Dan Cooper, assistant vice president and controller, was elected assistant treasurer. Dana Aymond was re-elected secretary to the Board. Rehmann Robson of Jackson was named the University’s internal auditor, effective October 2005.
