Governor appoints new regent to EMU board
YPSILANTI - Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm has appointed Floyd Clack, a longtime educator and former state representative, to the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents. Clack, 64, of Flint, is appointed to represent the general public for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2006. Clack replaces Steven Gordon, who resigned from the board in March.
Clack’s wife, Brenda, is a member of Michigan’s House of Representatives for the 34th District (Genesee county). Elected to office in November 2002, she is a member of the House’s Education Committee, as well as the Family and Children Services, and Senior Health, Security and Retirement committees. The next regularly scheduled Board of Regents meeting is Sept. 20, 2005.Eastern Michigan University is a public, comprehensive university that offers programs in the arts, sciences and professions.
