EMU to host Ypsilanti mayoral debate July 27
YPSILANTI - Eastern Michigan University will provide the stage for the 2006 Ypsilanti mayoral debate Thursday, July 27, 7-9 p.m.
EMU President John A. Fallon will introduce the program at McKenny Union’s Ballroom.
Candidates include Steve Pierce, Lois Richardson and Paul Schreiber. Topics of discussion will include city finances, the Water Street development, the proposed city income tax, the funding of public transportation, and the steps which can be taken to encourage growth and cut spending.
The debate will be released as a Podcast and excerpts will be broadcast on WEMU 89.1 FM.
