EMU alumni to host Aug. 21 event featuring the group Killer Flamingos

YPSILANTI — Join the EMU Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) and friends for a night of live music, networking and fun Aug. 21 at the 5th Avenue Ballroom, 25750 Novi Rd., in Novi.

A private reception will be from 8:30 – 10 p.m., followed by music by the Killer Flamingos, a popular cover band from southeastern Michigan, The group plays hits from the 80s and 90s, and current favorites.

“Our goal is to connect young alumni with one another and with EMU for life,” said Acadia Hahlbrock, assistant director of constituent relations. “This reception should prove to be a great way to network with fellow alumni while enjoying the music of the Killer Flamingos.”

The event is $5, which covers admission to the reception, an appetizer buffet and the Killer Flamingo performance. Alumni and friends are welcome.
