WHO: The Eastern Michigan University football team
WHAT: pre-season practice
WHEN: Sunday, Aug. 22, 10 a.m.-noon
WHERE: Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School, 3200 E. Layfayette, Detroit

“The opportunity to practice at one of Detroit’s finest high school football facilities is an honor for our players and coaches,” said Genyk. “We hope some of M.L. King Head Coach James Reynolds’ success will rub off on us.”
Genyk said there are 46 players on EMU’s roster who are from the metro Detroit area, including nine from the Detroit Public School League.
As part of the practice session, the EMU football team is inviting all high school teams from Metro Detroit, along with teams from P.A.L. and Pop Warner Leagues.
Former Detroit Lions standout and EMU player Ron Rice is scheduled to attend. Rice played for EMU from 1991-94 and then for the Lions from 1995-2001.
