EMU welcomes 1,600 new students during orientation Aug. 28
WHO: Approximately 1,600 new students and their families
WHAT: Residence hall move-in and orientation for fall 2004
WHEN: Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
WHERE: The campus of Eastern Michigan University
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Interim President Craig Willis and the Eastern Michigan University community will welcome freshman students and their families for the start of the 2004-05 school year.
“This is always a special time of the year on a college campus and I am very excited to be spending it here at EMU,” said Willis. “We want all of our students to have a great experience, both academically and socially.”
The day begins at 8 a.m. with move-in at the residence halls. Commuter check-in begins at 9 a.m. at the McKenny Union. Activities include a kick-off picnic from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in University Park behind the Rec/IM; family workshops from 1-3 p.m..; a welcome convocation with President Willis at 4 p.m. at the convocation center and a family reception/farewell immediately following the convocation.
