EMU regents approve 25 retirements

YPSILANTIThe Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approved the retirement of 10 faculty and 14 staff at its regular meeting September 21. Those faculty retiring are:

  • Michael Brabec, of Ann Arbor, professor of chemistry, 22 years of service.
  • William Cline, of Ypsilanti, professor of foreign language, 37 years of service.
  • Janet Davis, of Manchester, lecturer, College of Education, six years of service.
  • John Ginther, of Saline, professor of mathematics, 42 years of service.
  • Steven Kirby, of Ypsilanti, professor of foreign languages, 16 years of service
  • Georgea Langer, of Ypsilanti, professor of teacher education, 22 years of service.
  • Mary Meernik, of Ann Arbor, assistant professor, library, 20 years of service.
  • Olga Nelson, of Ypsilanti, professor of teacher education, 16 years of service.
  • Colin Neuhaus, of Gregory, professor of marketing, 38 years of service.
  • Michael Peraino, of Ann Arbor, lecturer, College of Education, six years of service.

Those staff retiring are:

  • Rosalyn Barclay, of Ann Arbor, associate director, counseling services, 26 years of service.
  • William Barnett, of Whitmore Lake, manager of audio/visual services, 34 years of service.
  • Susan Brown, of Saline, account specialist, 11 years of service.
  • Daniel Cooper, of Ann Arbor, assistant vice president and controller, 17 years of service.
  • Paula Dykstra,of Ypsilanti, assistant director of academic advising, 16 years of service.
  • Susan Ervin, of Chelsea, executive, vice president, business and finance, 28 years of service.
  • Cindy Hall, of Milan, director of campus police, 28 years of service.
  • Paul Jamieson, of Saline, carpenter, 27 years of service.
  • Patricia McGeorge, of Ypsilanti, custodian, 18 years of service.
  • Michael Nastos, of Ann Arbor, music announcer and librarian, WEMU FM, 17 years of service.
  • Jane Ollila, of Pinckney, administrative associate, department of communication and theatre arts, 24 years of service.
  • Clyde Sisson, of Ann Arbor, plumber, 27 years of service.
  • Deborah Strine, of Belleville, assistant manager, dining services, 10 months of service.
  • Joan Quinlan, of Ann Arbor, records and teacher certification specialist, department of education, 16 years of service.
  • James Vick, of Ypsilanti, vice president of student affairs, 34 years of service.
