Eastern Michigan University regents take first step in formation of presidential search committee
YPSILANTI - Eastern Michigan University’s Board of Regents announced the list of the areas of the university that will be represented in the presidential search committee.
Board chair Tom Sidlik made the announcement during his remarks at the Sept. 21 meeting.
The committee will include one representative from each of the following groups: faculty council; the EMU chapter of the American Association of University Professors; emeritus faculty; administration; the student body; the alumni; the EMU Foundation and the general public.
The committee also will have three regents.
“Choosing the right president for this great university is critical,” Sidlik said. “The Regents understand this and are committed to a thorough and expeditious process. In order to make a decision quickly, the search committee will be compact and composed of 11 members.”
