Fourth generation CEO of Chelsea Milling to offer insights into leadership at EMU College of Business breakfast series
YPSILANTI — Howdy S. Holmes, president and CEO of the Chelsea Milling Co., will be the next guest speaker at Eastern Michigan University College of Business’ Breakfast with the Dean series. Holmes will share his vision for leadership at the free program, Friday, Oct. 3, 7:30 – 9 a.m., room 114 of the College of Business.
The Holmes family has operated the Chelsea Milling Co. for more than 120 years. Holmes is the fourth generation to work at the company.
The company’s entire operation, from milling flour to mixing, packaging, warehousing and shipping, is based in Chelsea, Mich.
Known for its 21 “Jiffy Mixes,” the company produces 1.1 million packages of its popular Jiffy Corn Muffin mix every day in addition to other products. Its recognizable blue-and-white boxes are shipped to all 50 states and foreign countries through the United States military. The company has also expanded its line by selling specially formulated products to restaurants and overseas markets.
