Eastern Michigan University celebrates homecoming Oct. 21

YPSILANTI — Fall colors and Halloween hues are a big part of October, but so are green and white and Eastern Michigan University’s annual homecoming celebration.

A big part of that celebration is the annual “Go Green” Alumni Tailgate, Saturday, Oct. 21, 1 p.m., just outside Rynearson Stadium.

“Homecoming is always an exciting time on campus, and one of the cornerstone events is the annual “Go Green” Alumni Tailgate,” said Vicki Reaume, executive director of alumni relations.  “We anticipate more than 500 people, and with food, live entertainment, caricaturists, and clowns, there truly is something for everyone; it’s the ideal place for friends to reconnect with the University and with each other. Our tailgates help build spirit and excitement among fans before game time.”

The tailgate precedes the 3 p.m. kickoff as the EMU football team takes on the University of Toledo. For a complete schedule of homecoming events, go to www.emich.edu/homecoming.

Friends and guests are welcome to attend. In lieu of an admission fee, donations for the Alumni Association Scholarship will be collected at the door. For more information, contact the Office for Alumni Relations at 734.487.0250 or alumni.relations@emich.edu.
