EMU students to bring 'Sleeping Beauty' to life Dec. 1

YPSILANTI — Bringing ‘Sleeping Beauty’ to life is never an easy task, but Eastern Michigan University’s dance students and orchestra will bring her back to life in ballet Friday, Dec. 1, at Pease Auditorium.

            Every seat for the matinee performance is reserved for more than 3,000 area schoolchildren and teachers. Tickets are available for a performance Friday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and $6 for children and are available at the Quirk Theater Box Office and the Convocation Center. Casting for the ballet includes: 20 dance students from EMU, three guest dancers and four professors playing special roles. 

            Sherry Jerome directs the ballet. Kevin Miller will direct the music by Tchaikovsky.
