Friday, Nov. 18, will be a fantastic day for hoops fans at the EMU Convocation Center. It's doubleheader night as the women lead off the action vs. Central Connecticut. Then, EMU's new men's coach, Charles E. Ramsey, makes his regular-season debut against his former mentor and EMU legend, Ben Braun. Braun brings his nationally-regarded California Bears to the Convocation Center for the second game of the doubleheader. Between games, Coach Braun will be inducted into EMU's Athletic Hall of Fame. Here's a schedule of the evening's activities:

  • 6 p.m.: EMU's back-to-back 20-win women's team takes on the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils
  • 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.: EMU's Alumni Relations office sponsors the 11th annual Alumni Basketball Reception at the Stadium Club, where patrons can watch the women's game and enjoy hors d'oeuvres and great company
  • Prior to the men's game (approx. 8:15 p.m.): California head coach and former EMU head coach Ben Braun will be inducted into the EMU Athletics Hall of Fame. Braun is EMU's winningest head coach, with 185 victories from 1986-1996
  • 8:30 p.m.: EMU's men's team takes on Braun's California-Berkeley Bears
  • Halftime of the men's game: Raising of the WNIT banner from the women's 2004-2005 post-season appearance

DOUBLE DOUBLE: One ticket gains you entrance to both games of the doubleheader. The first 500 fans will receive free double bobbleheads of Coaches Ramsey and Ben Braun. SEE YOU THERE!

Both games will be televised on Comcast local.
