Stevick appointed EMU interim vice president for advancement
YPSILANTI – Eastern Michigan University President Craig Willis has announced the appointment of Thomas R. Stevick as interim vice president for advancement at EMU and interim executive director for the EMU Foundation, effective Jan. 7, 2005.
Stevick replaces Stuart J. Starner, who accepted a position as director of major gifts at the 12th Man Foundation (athletic fundraising) at Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas.
“In his short time here, Tom Stevick has impressed everyone with his friendraising,” said Willis.
“We have a great team in fundraising and alumni relations. I look forward to continuing our progress in these areas,” said Stevick.
Stevick has served EMU as executive director of development since Oct. 2002. Previously, he was director of development/external relations at the Arizona State University College of Law and was a senior development officer for the University of Michigan Law School.
He has a bachelor’s degree from Fairmont State College in West Virginia; a master’s from West Virginia University; and a law degree from the University of Michigan.He and his wife, Grace, have two sons, James and Andrew.
