Association of Fundraising Professionals honors two EMU volunteers
YPSILANTI - The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) recently honored EMU Professors Karen and Michael Paciorek as distinguished volunteers.
“They championed the cause of raising funds which benefit students, programs, faculty and staff,” said Pamela Wright, EMU Foundation annual fund manager.
The Pacioreks were nominated for their services as co-chairs of the EMU Faculty and Staff Giving Program during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 fiscal years.
Karen Paciorek is a professor of early childhood education. Michael Paciorek is a professor of physical education. Both joined EMU in 1981 after teaching in public schools and completing their doctoral work. They reside in Novi.
The Pacioreks were honored at a AFP dinner in November. The proceeds from the dinner help continuing education programs sponsored by the AFP – Greater Detroit Chapter, including programs for new professionals and forums for education around ethics and standards or practice.
