THE GREAT BOBINI TAKES TO THE STAGE DURING
EASTERN MICHIGAN'S FAMILY DAY, OCT. 6
YPSILANTI - There will be magic in the air when Eastern Michigan University's own Great Bobini takes to the stage during the annual Family Day celebration Saturday, Oct. 6, noon-4 p.m., on EMU's main campus.
The Great Bobini, a hearing-impaired magician, will dazzle audiences with several amazing feats, 1 p.m., in the McKenny Union ballroom. Audiences will believe the unbelievable when, as part of his performance, he saws a woman in two and levitates above the stage.
Bobini is played by EMU employee Bob Jones, of Toledo. A popular entertainer, Jones has appeared at the well-known Comedy Castle in Royal Oak, MI and at previous Family Day events. Because he is hearing-impaired, his wife will be on stage to sign the entire magic show.
The Great Bobini is one of more than 50 Family Day activities for visitors of all ages. Children's activities include face painting, chemistry magic, a live theatre performance; and a Harry Potter and Hermione look-alike contest. Activities for adults include learning to create a web design, tips to eliminate stress, line dancing lessons and various EMU tours.
