EMU'S FAMILY DAY OFFERS FREE FUN FOR ALL
YPSILANTI - Harry Potter reading his books, cotton candy and homemade slime are just three of the ingredients for fun at Eastern Michigan University's annual Family Day, Saturday, Oct. 7, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Free and open to the public.
"Family Day provides a wonderful opportunity for children of all ages to have fun while experiencing the vitality of EMU's campus,," said Rita Abent, executive director of marketing and communications for the University. "It's an event everyone looks forward to each October."
Family Day offers plenty of fun, with an emphasis on learning, for children and adults of all ages. Events include an interactive chemistry program, a live birds of prey exhibit; storytellers; a flight simulator; a diving exhibition by EMU's dive team; clowns; caricaturists, a magician; and music by the Chelsea House Orchestra.
There also is plenty of free stuff from the Detroit Red Wings and the EMU College of Technology, as well as free ticket vouchers for the Eagles football game with Toledo that afternoon (4 p.m.).
