EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY'S ANNUAL
FAMILY DAY CELEBRATION BRINGS FUN FOR ALL
YPSILANTI - Eastern Michigan University's annual Family Day celebration will pack the main campus with nearly 50 fun, educational activities, Saturday, Oct. 6, noon-4 p.m. With activities ranging from a Harry Potter look-alike contest to a flight simulator, there will be something for people of all ages.
For small children, there will be a puppet show, caricaturists, and magicians, including the Great Bobini, a deaf magician who will levitate and saw a person in half. Coca-Cola will sponsor a Harry Potter and Hermione look-alike contest with prizes for the best dressed. When the kids just want to sit and relax, they can watch the production "Twisted Tales and Bits of Cheese," at EMU's Sponberg Theatre. Also offered will be face painting, autographs from the EMU basketball teams, a reading show by Ronald McDonald, and the very popular wax hand molds.
This day is not just for little kids, though. For older children and adults, there will be a water color painting demonstration, a lesson on designing your own web page, and a creative memories class. If you're looking for a little more activity, a basic line dancing class will be offered. There will be tours available of the greenhouse, the library, and EMU's campus. You also can learn to enrich your life with music, exercise, and massage.
EMU's Family Day promises not only a day of fun for the entire family, but a day of learning.
