EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY REGENTS APPROVE

ROOM RATES FOR NEW RESIDENCE HALL COMPLEX

YPSILANTI - The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents approved the 2001-2002 room rate for EMU's new residence hall complex, at its regular meeting Nov. 14.

The room-only rate for the new complex, which consists of four-person suites with single bedrooms, will be $4,200 for the 2001-2002 semester.

The new facility will be available on a priority basis to returning students based on program design. Currently, partnerships with various academic departments are being explored for theme-based living centers. A limited number of freshmen and transfer students also may be housed in the new facility based on availability and program design.

Based on the inflationary factor of 3.4 percent, the average percentage increase in the state over the last four years, the estimated 2001-2002 room rates for singles in the Towers (Hill, Hoyt and Pittman residence halls) will be $3,602 and $3,870 for regular singles. The estimated monthly rate for a furnished one-bedroom apartment in Pine Grove Apartments will be $517 ; $515 for Cornell Courts; and $581 for Westview apartments for the 2001-2002 semester.
