YPSILANTI - Jackson resident Jon Kopp was one of eight students honored by the College of Technology at Eastern Michigan University, for outstanding academic achievement. Kopp received the Technology Education Academic Excellence Award during an award banquet at the Ypsilanti Marriot at Eagle Crest.
A graduate of Hudson High School, Hudson, Mich., Kopp teaches on-site carpentry at the Jackson Area Career Center, and is earning his certification in vocational education at EMU. He also is a licensed contractor with Castleheart Construction.
Recipients of these awards are recognized by the College of Technology for being at the top of their class. They have excelled in mastering the skills necessary to succeed in their fields.
