STUDENTS BRING SPORT OF CRICKET TO EMU

YPSILANTI - Stumped by cricket? Here's a chance to pick up some tips and see some of the best student cricket players in America, all for free.

TARANG, the Indian Students Association of Eastern Michigan University, will host a series of cricket matches, August 4-6, on Eastern Michigan's softball grounds in Ypsilanti. These matches are the first of its kind in the United States to be organized by students. Teams will feature players from India and Pakistan. Free admission

WHO: Teams from the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, Bowling Green University, Oakland University, Eastern Michigan University (the host team) and league teams from Detroit and Farmington Hills will compete.

WHAT: The first of its kind cricket match by undergraduate and graduate students from India and Pakistan.

WHERE: Eastern Michigan University softball grounds, Huron River Drive near Oakwood, (across from McDonalds) in Ypsilanti.

WHEN: Friday, Aug. 4, 6:30 p.m. - 1 a.m.

Saturday, Aug. 5, 9 a.m. - Noon; 7 p.m. - 1 a.m.

Sunday, Aug. 6, 9 a.m. - Noon

Awards will be given for "Best Team," "Man of the Match," "Best Bowler," and Best Batsman."
