EMU Students Win National Fitness
Champion Title
YPSILANTI Eastern Michigan University students, Brett Pedersen,
of Dexter, Mich., and Chris Roberson, of Cleveland, Ohio, were recently named
the 2003 American Collegiate Intramural Championships (ACIC) National Fitness
Champions.
Pedersen and Roberson took first place in team tug of war, speed sled competition
and the obstacle course. They were third place winners in the dualthon (run/bike).
Each of them received a plaque and a medal at the national competition May 9-10
in Orlando, Fla.
I have a great sense of fulfillment and achievement from winning the
ACIC championship, said Pedersen. It was an amazing experience that
I will remember for the rest of my life.
The national competition included the top 10 teams from across
the country including the University of North Carolina, Baylor University, Valparaiso
University and Texas Tech University.
