EMU FOOTBALL 101 HELPS FANS TO SCORE A TOUCHDOWN

YPSILANTI - Have you ever wanted to be on the football field and learn how a play works? You can now grab the ball and run with it during Eastern Michigan University's "Football 101" workshop.

EMU's head coach, Jeff "Woody" Woodruff, and his staff will guide sports fans through the strategies and language of the pigskin action, Tues., Sept. 24, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at EMU's Rynearson Stadium, 799 N. Hewitt in Ypsilanti.

Football 101 will include basic football maneuvers, video instruction and a question-and-answer period. In addition, there will be active drills on the field, so participants should wear workout clothes. Everyone who signs up will receive a free t-shirt and refreshments.

There is a $5 per person fee which will be donated to Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels. EMU students are free.

"I had a great time at FB 101! Now I feel like I can watch a game and have an idea about what is happening on the field," said Julia Nims, of Ypsilanti, who participated in last year's course.

To sign up, call the EMU Athletics Department at 734.487.5642.
