Experience the Magic of the Great Bobini During EMUs Family Day, Oct. 11
YPSILANTI There will be more than just magic in the air when
The Great Bobini takes the stage during Eastern Michigan Universitys annual
Family Day, Saturday, Oct. 11, noon-4 p.m. at EMUs main campus in Ypsilanti.
The Great Bobini, a.k.a. EMU employee Bob Jones, of Toledo, is a popular magician
and entertainer who just happens to be hearing-impaired. Along with cards being
pulled out of the air and balls magically multiplying as they are juggled, audience
members will delight in interacting with someone from the deaf culture. For
example, when The Great Bobini performs an amazing feat, children are asked
to raise their hands in the air and wiggle them, so The Great Bobini can see,
rather than hear, their applause. The show begins at 12:30 p.m. in the Grand
Ballroom of McKenny Union.
