Take On the Challenge of EMU’s Obstacle Course at Family Day, Oct. 11

YPSILANTI --–Get dirty, beat the clock and possibly win a prize. Practice push-ups and sit-ups. Get ready to take on the challenge of an obstacle course at Eastern Michigan University’s Family Day, Saturday, Oct. 11, noon to 4 p.m. outside Roosevelt Hall.

EMU’s Military Science Department is offering a boot camp-like experience for all ages. In addition to the push-ups and sit-ups, contestants will lug sand bags, throw mock grenades, shoot water blaster guns and toss a football through a tire. All competition is against the clock.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. Check out one of the Army’s newest trucks and a Humvee. Get hands-on and climb inside to experience the feel of the wheel.

The day will also feature more than 50 other free activities that are open to the public. For more information on Family Day, go to or call 734.487.4400.
