Security measures for Commencement 2000

Extra security measures will be required for BOTH commencement ceremonies this Sunday, April 30. It will take two hours for all participants and guests to enter the Convocation Center for each ceremony.

Due to the large number of participants and guests, and the need for additional security measures for the President of the United States, it is important that all attendees abide by the following:

n Everyone who enters the building must go through security. To facilitate this,

Please do not bring purses or bags to the ceremony

Leave all flowers at home or in your vehicle

No umbrellas or signs will be allowed

Projectiles such as beach balls, airplanes, etc. will be confiscated

n Everyone entering the building must have a ticket and photo identification

n Undergraduates, graduates and faculty will enter the Convocation Center via the tunnel from Rynearson Stadium. Enter the stadium through the ticket turnstyles on the west side. Marshals will direct you to the appropriate staging areas.

n Guests will enter through the northwest entrance of the Convocation Center

n Parking will be at a premium. Please try to carpool if possible. Handicapped parking is limited. There is no doorside dropoff area.

n Please arrive early. Late participants will not be allowed to enter the main floor.

n Cameras, including video cameras, are allowed.

Special notes for the morning commencement:

n Doors open at 8 a.m.

n All participants and guests will be required to vacate the Convocation Center immediately following the ceremony. Please make plans to meet one another at a location outside the building.

n Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

n All participants and guests will be required to vacate the Convocation Center immediately following the ceremony. Please make plans to meet one another at a location outside the building.
