EMU HOSTS FIRST ALUMNI TAILGATE IN MARYLAND
YPSILANTI, Mich. --- Eastern Michigan University will host an alumni tailgate reception Saturday, Sept. 8, at Ludwig Field, southeast of Byrd Stadium, College Park, Md. Following the pre-game tailgate from 4 to 6 p.m., EMU's football team will take on the Terrapins.
"This is the first EMU tailgate event ever in Maryland," said Vicki Reaume Mushinsky, director of alumni relations at EMU. "It's a great opportunity for alumni to get together, reminisce, and enjoy good food and refreshments." EMU's mascot, Swoop the eagle, will join the alumni pre-game event and follow them to the stadium, all the while pumping up the fans' support for a green and white victory.
All EMU alumni and friends are invited to the festivities hosted by the Office for Alumni Relations and the National Capital Alumni Chapter. Alumni in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. area are expected to attend.
Tailgate tickets, which are $5 for alumni association members and $7 for all others, are available by contacting the EMU Alumni Relations Office at 734.487.0250; by fax: 734.487.7009; or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tickets to the football game are $25 and are available by contacting the EMU Ticket Office at 734.487.2282.
