Eastern Michigan University
Please Note: Veteran Services has moved to 401 Pierce Hall.
Eastern Michigan University is an accredited four-year university that is home to one of the largest veteran student populations in the state of Michigan. Our mission is to assist student veterans in meeting the requirements to receive their educational benefits. We are also knowledgeable in many other veteran-related areas and strive to do our best to assist the EMU community.
Our office provides services to a diverse community of students. Whether you were just released from active duty, currently on active duty, in the National Guard or Reserves, or a spouse or dependent of a disabled veteran, we would like to help you with your transition and academic goals.
At the MVRC you can find several resources that include assistance with your education benefit, health care benefits, service connected claims and opportunities to connect with other veteran students.
Reminder to all veteran students at EMU wishing to use their education benefits for Fall 2013 semester. We are certifying for fall now.
You must complete the Online Enrollment Certification Request Form each semester to let us know you are ready to have your course work certified with the VA.

At EMU, we are committed to helping our student veterans thrive. That's why we are partnering with a program called PAVE – Peer Advisors for Veteran Education.
PAVE connects new student veterans with trained Peer Advisors – volunteer vets who have already made a successful transition to college.PAVE – Peer Advisors for Veteran Education. PAVE connects new student veterans with trained Peer Advisors – volunteer vets who have already made a successful transition to college. If you are new to EMU, we hope you will connect with PAVE for assistance and support. Peer Advisors are ready to help you find answers to questions encountered by most students veterans transitioning to a college campus. It's also a great way to get connected to the veteran community on campus.
If you are already established at EMU, we hope you will consider becoming a Peer Advisor. The time commitment is manageable– just one to two hours per week plus a one-day on-campus training session. In return, you'll gain valuable interpersonal and problem-solving skills, expand your campus network, and earn a letter of recommendation worth highlighting on your résumé. Best of all, you'll make a difference in the life of a fellow student veteran.
