Alternative Breaks
Involve yourself in service in a way that you have never done before. Travel throughout the United States and help make a difference. Winter break and spring break trips available.

America Reads
Improve the reading and writing skills of children through this tutoring/mentoring program at a local elementary school.
 
 
Best Buddies
Being a Best Buddy is about having and being a friend to young adults with developmental disabilities.
 
 
Eastern Votes
Registered to vote yet?  Register, learn more about elections and
voting, and help your fellow students become informed citizens through the Eastern Votes Program, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to educating students to be engaged in their civic duty.
 
 
GREEN
Gathering Resources to be Educated about our Environment and Nature. Help recycle, preserve Michigan's habitats and the envronment. Get your hands dirty while making the planet a healthier place.
 
 
Habitat for Humanity
Pick up a hammer and pitch in to help build affordable housing in the Ypsilanti area. Volunteers of all experience levels are invited to help raise funds and walls to build EMU's first Habitat house. We are building this year!
 
 
Kid Konnection
Make a difference in a child's life by tutoring, mentoring and spending time with local children. America Reads, Jumpstart, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girls on the Run, and other programs.
 
 
One Day Events
This is a perfect opportunity for those with busy schedules who still want to get involved. Participate in one-day service events. Such as Community Plunge and National Make a Difference Day.
 
 
SAHAH
Students Against Hunger and Homelessness. Join the fight against hunger and homelessness in the local community by working in soup kitchens and shelters. Participate in the annual Sleep-Out-by-the-Kiosk and the Oxfam Hunger Banquet.
 
 
Student Service Council
Representitives from service related organizations on campus meeting to share ideas and collaborate.
 
 
VOICE
Volunteers Involved in Civic Engagement. Address important issues affecting our community. Advocate for change. Bring Awareness of social justice issues to campus.
