Known Uses: Initially the
building was intended to be a men’s
residence hall. In 1973-74 Brown was converted
into single occupancy apartments. After renovation,
the dorms at Brown offered air-conditioning,
carpeting, and most of the other luxuries
featured in off-campus apartments.

Following World
War II, Brown was built under President
Elliott’s administration, in a
effort to provide more housing for the
rising number of students attending
college
|

Munson contained
200 student rooms when it was built
and Brown contained 250. Brown also
had a kitchen and dining room attached.
