President Eugene B. Elliott constructed Pine Grove Apartments as part of his expansion plans

Pine Grove apartments were earmarked as married housing, housing that would appeal to GIs with families returning from the Korean War

When completed Pine Grove was planned to house 73 families but by 1957-58 school year, it had 168 apartment units
