...Herstory...
The Women's Center opened in 1991 a resource center for women out of the efforts of the feminist women's organization Womynspace. The Women's Center then was a tiny, under-funded student organization with something to prove: that it could serve a necessary and vital function on campus. On a campus as large as Eastern's, the Women's Center has served as a place where women can not only find resources, information, advocacy, and referrals, but also a place where they can hang out between classes, get school supplies as needed, and be an intricate part of our programs.
Run completely by student staff, the Women's Center is stronger than it has ever been. Help us to keep the center going strong by visiting us and supporting our ongoing programs.
