2010 Vagina Monologues Production: Feburary 11, 12, 13
Creator Eve Ensler has taken her passion for performance and activism and combined them to create an episodic play called "The Vagina Monologues." ALL proceeds from each show around the world go to benefit anti-violence against women organizations on a local and global level.
This production of the world renowned play celebrates women's life experiences, sexuality, and self-discovery through a series of monologues that are performed exclusively by EMU students, staff, and faculty.
The EMU Women's Resource Center is responsible for sponsoring this event each year. You'll be guaranteed to laugh or cry and everything in between.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who is allowed to audition?
You must be a female EMU student, faculty, or staff member in order to audition for the monologues. If you are from another organization or university and you would like to participate in The Vagina Monologues, contact your school or organization to see if they have productions of the show. If not, perhaps you can think about starting one yourself!
Are men allowed to perform in the monologues?
Unfortunately, men are not allowed to audition or perform in the monologues, but we HIGHLY ENCOURAGE men to get involved in ending violence against women! Men can also help in the beyond the scenes planning of The Vagina Monologues as sound crew, light crew, or even as directors!
Can I bring my grandmother or my children?
We strongly encourage EVERYONE to come to see it! It is not only for women...men can learn to become allies! It is not just for a young crowd...all people, young or old, can learn, grow, and even relive experiences. This production represents unique experiences of ALL women no matter the age, race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.
We won't lie...the subject matter is for a mature audience, but we leave it up to the parents to decide whether or not they want their children to see the performance. If you'd like a copy of the script, please see the book "The Vagina Monologues" by Eve Ensler.
I saw the show at another university/during a previous year. Why would I want to see it again?
Each year Eve Ensler never fails to change the show up a little. She adds new monologues and removes existing ones every year! Also, each year we have a different director, which means a different vision of how the show looks. No two shows are ever the same at EMU.
