SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month - WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
During SAAM we host a series of programs that generate dialogue about sexual violence.
Annual Programs
The Clothesline Project
The Clothesline Project provides a unique outlet for survivors of domestic and sexual violence to share their experiences on a t-shirt. Once the t-shirts are made, they are hung on a clothesline in the Student Center to be viewed by others as testimony to the problem of violence against women. Look for the display in the Student Center during Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April.
Take Back the Night
An annual march/rally/speak-out against violence against women! During the first half of the evening (the 'speak-out'), survivors have an opportunity to tell their stories in their own words to a room full of other survivors and supporters of survivors. The second part of the evening (march/rally) is intended to empower survivors to reclaim their night. Carry signs, chant, and march through campus with us! (Please see the Take Back the Night page for more details.)
