Women's and Gender Studies Student Association - WGSSA

WGSSA serves as a student organization that promotes both the department within Women's and Gender Studies as well as the programs it offers. Those include: The WGST Major and Minor, The Queer Studies Minor, Master's Graduate Certificate and the Master's of Women's and Gender Studies.

We are committed to promoting knowledge, education, and awareness of gender studies, diversity issues and social change. We are open to all EMU undergraduates and graduate students interested in making a difference.

National Women's and Gender Studies Honor Society - Triota

Triota (Iota Iota Iota) is a national academic and service-based Women's and Gender Studies honor society. The Greek letter Iota was selected to represent the three Goddess Inanna, Ishtar, Isis. Triota strives to maintain feminist values central to Women's and Gender Studies:

  • Egalitarianism
  • Inclusiveness
  • Celebration of the diversity of women's experience

Students for Choice

Students for Choice believes in the fundamental right of every individual to manage his or her own fertility. We support full access to comprehensive reproductive and complimentary health care services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; advocates of public policies that guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services; and supports access to medically accurate education that enhances education of human sexuality.
