Chinese Program Information

The Department of World Languages offers Mandarin Chinese courses: CHNE 121, CHNE 122, CHNE 211 and CHNE 212. These courses fulfill the requirements of Humanities in General Education Area 4 and may count towards your major. We do not offer a Chinese major or a minor at this time, but we are building the capacity to create a Chinese minor program in the years to come.

Courses

Advanced Placement (AP)

If you have taken an advanced placement test in Chinese and earn a score of at least three, you will be granted five credits equivalent to CHNE 121. If you earn a score of four, you will be granted five credits equivalent to CHNE 122.

If you do not have an AP test score, you must take an in-house placement test in the Department of World Languages.
