Yoko Numata received an MA in foreign language education from the University of Kansas (2004) and an MA in Japanese language pedagogy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2009), while teaching Japanese as a teaching assistant. 

She currently teaches beginning and intermediate Japanese and Japanese Composition.

She is especially interested in the effect of teacher-student interaction on student learning.
