The K-12 teaching major and the secondary teaching major and minor in French

Students may complete a K-12 teaching major, a secondary teaching major, or a secondary teaching minor in French. All major and minor programs of study include coursework designed to help students to develop their language proficiency as well as their knowledge of francophone history, culture, and literature. In order to enhance their language skills and experience life in the target culture, majors and minors must participate in an approved study abroad experience lasting at least six weeks. The Michigan Standards for Teacher Certification also require that majors and minors complete a World language methods course.
