we learned:
- Students
were highly engaged and motivated as they participated
in the activities.

became more comfortable with writing and began to write
longer entries and more detailed observations.

improved their attitude toward science and writing.

gained a high level and lasting memory of knowledge about
science concepts related to the wetland theme.
- Many
girls and culturally diverse students became more motivated
and interested in the learning of science through the
use of drawing and writing activities, storytellers, and
literature that reflected their cultural history.
