March 14-15 2008
Raising Our Voices:
Power, Politics, and Gender
Eastern Michigan University, under the auspices of the Michigan Women’s Studies Association, is pleased to announce the 2008 Michigan Women’s Studies Conference. This annual conference considers topics related to women and gender, and we invite faculty, independent scholars, graduate students, undergraduates, activists, and non-profit professionals to participate.
The theme of this conference, Raising Our Voices: Power, Politics, and Gender, highlights the ways in which women and men are using their voices to challenge power relationships. The conference seeks a diversity of presenters and presentations around the theme.
Formats include papers of approximately 20 minutes in length, panels of 3-5 presenters, workshops, media presentations, and a poster session for undergraduates only. We also welcome complete sessions submissions. A committee of MWSA associates will make the final selection of presenters.
In order to be considered as a presenter, you must complete one or more of the following forms and submit a 200-250 word abstract of each presentation. Clicking on the links below should copy the corresponding document (Microsoft Word format) to your computer.
