Biography
For the past decade Ashley has had the pleasure of engaging with the most amazingly talented people, learning about their stories and bringing them to life in compelling magazine and newspaper articles, and film projects for viewers to enjoy as a journalist and producer. Today, Ashley is an independent creative, creating safe spaces for Black artists, and producing and crafting stories as a freelancer for brands like TLB (formerly The Lip Bar), Foot Locker, The Wright Museum, and her own book community and podcast, Books We Should’ve Read. As an Africology & African American Studies graduate student, also pursuing a graduate certificate in Cultural Museum Studies, she would like to continue helping to amplify the voices of disenfranchised storytellers — making sure that their work is seen, heard and cared for in the most carefully respectful way.
