Spring 2018 Commencement Ceremony

We would like to express our gratitude to the team of employees and volunteers whose combined efforts resulted in successful ceremonies in which approximately 2,800 graduates participated. The coordination, cooperation, and commitment of the individuals and teams that support our students through their work in preparing and executing this important event is very much appreciated. Thank you for helping to make this such a special day for our students and their loved ones.

McNair Scholars Program Hits a New High

For the first time in the history of the McNair Scholars program, every senior who graduated in Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 has been accepted to one or more graduate programs!  We are delighted to have two of these graduates continuing their studies at Eastern. We wish our remaining graduates well as they head out for new experiences at University of Michigan, Wayne State University, St. Louis University, George Washington University, New York University, The Ohio State University, Texas A & M, University of Illinois and University of Texas, Austin. We also celebrate three McNair juniors who are headed to summer research programs at The Ohio State University, Rutgers University, and University of Michigan.

We are grateful to all who contribute their time and support to the McNair Scholars program.

Eastern Researchers Work to Make your Manicure More Eco-Friendly

Eastern’s team in the RadTech Emerging Technology Award competition has been selected to receive the University Technology Development Award.  Under the leadership of Professor Vijay Mannari, Eastern PhD fellow Forough Zareansharaki designed two curable nail gel polish prototypes, both with 50% bio-renewable content; one of which is water based.  Most nail gel products currently on the market are made from petrochemical based resources. Congratulations on this prestigious award!
