Colleen Croxall and Chiara Hensley Receive Outstanding Institutional Representative Award from MI-ACE Women’s Network

We are pleased to announce that Colleen Croxall, director of School of Health Sciences and Chiara Hensley, assistant vice president for Academic and Student Affairs, are the recipients of the 2018 Outstanding Institutional Representative Award from the MI-ACE Women’s Network.

The Outstanding Institutional Representative Award recognizes and honors Institutional Representatives for developing, encouraging, advancing, linking, and supporting women on their campus. Over the past year, Chiara and Colleen led efforts that expanded the breadth of relationships within the campus network, initiated a mentor project, and provided additional programming and activities reflecting the mission, values, and goals of MI-ACE.  

Eastern Students Take Second Place in NASA Physics Competition

Congratulations to Dr. Dave Pawlowski, Associate Professor, Physics, and his team of students on earning a second place finish in the University Student Design Challenge sponsored by NASA. Under Dave’s Leadership, these students were afforded the opportunity to apply their cumulative physics knowledge and work as a team to produce an award-winning design for aeronautical vehicle. Childcare Opportunity for Eastern Students at The Collaborative: Ypsilanti YMCA Child Development Center

Registration is now open for The Collaborative: Ypsilanti YMCA Child Development Center. The Collaborative provides quality child care to Eastern’s students with children and to low-income families in Ypsilanti. Licensed and managed by the YMCA, it is situated at the former Chappelle Elementary in Ypsilanti. YMCA Day Camps Start June 18

Eastern is collaborating with the Ann Arbor YMCA, Ypsilanti Community Schools, McKinley Properties, and LightUp Now to present a variety of camp experiences in Ypsilanti. Registration is open and camps begin June 18. Check out the brochure for details and information on how to register your campers!

Reminder: FY18 Year-End Deadlines

As FY18 draws to a close, please take note of the following deadlines for processing paperwork!

  • June 15: Deadline for corrections of all open encumbrances; Recommended deadline for FY18 payment card purchases; Deadline for purchases NOT requiring bid.
  • June 22: Deadline for Check Deposits in Cashier’s Office
  • June 29: Documents for goods/services received prior to June 30, 2018 due in Accounts Payable; Deadline for all budget transfers, journal vouchers, and internal charges
  • July 1: Deadline for all payroll leave reports through June 30, 2018 must be submitted and approved for AP, AC and ES staff
  • July 3: Deadline for all Concur expense reports
  • July 6: First close 3 p.m.
  • July 9: First close statements available on e-print
  • July 12: Deadline for all June corrections
  • July 16: Final close 3 p.m.
  • July 17: Final close statements available on e-print
