Dr. O’Neill will present "Climate Change and Health: Research and Partnerships for Action," Thursday, March 23, 7–8 p.m., Student Center Auditorium, with dessert reception immediately following. Dr. O'Neill is Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Environmental Health at the University of Michigan, School of Public Health. She has an M.S. in Environmental Health Sciences from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Pan American Health Organization, in Mexico at the National Institute of Public Health and the National Center for Environmental Health, and as a Research Fellow in Environmental Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health.
Her research interests include health effects of air pollution and temperature extremes; climate change and health; international health; and environmental equity. Dr. O’Neill’s research has been funded by the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Science Foundation. Her current work includes evaluating heat waves and health outcomes; climate change vulnerability mapping, and a study of air pollution and birth outcomes among a cohort of pregnant women from Mexico City.
The Graduate Research Conference will be held this Friday, March, 24, from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. in the EMU Student Center. This event is a celebration of graduate student research and creative activity in a professional conference format. Sonja Parker, Vice President of Human Resources at Integrated Design, Inc., in Ann Arbor will be the luncheon keynote speaker. As an MS student in the College of Business, Ms. Parker participated in the 2000 Graduate Research Fair. 2017 schedules are now available:

EMU’s 37th Undergraduate Symposium will be held on Friday, March 31 in the Student Center. Representing all five colleges, over 450 students will present their research under the direction of 220 faculty mentors.

The 2017 Student Gold Medallion Awards Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, March 28, 3:30–5 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom during the Week of Excellence.
