EMU and the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum (AAHOM) have received funding from the National Center for Science and Civic Engagement in order to form a partnership which provides quality informal STEM education activities to the children and families of Ypsilanti. Interested faculty from all disciplines are encouraged to help make the most of this opportunity by participating in a joint planning session with educators from the AAHOM on Tuesday June 20 from 2–4 p.m. (campus location TBA).
The initiative is lead by Sarah Fabian and Kelly Grossman (Library) and Amy Flanagan Johnson (Chemistry). Please by on Friday June 16, though earlier responses for planning purposes are greatly appreciated. Snacks will be provided.
Dr. Chiara Hensley was named the recipient of the 2017 ALL-Women Economic Forum Women of the Decade in Academia and Leadership Award at the Women Economic Forum annual meeting in New Delhi, India. Dr. Hensley will present through multiple platforms in the fall 2017 term on the conference experience and knowledge gained that can be applied to work at EMU.
Dr. Colleen Croxall successfully completed the Michigan ACE Women's Network 2016-2017 "Moving the Needle" Senior Leadership Shadow Program. Dr. Croxall participated in the inaugural cohort of this program, completing a 150-hour administrative internship under the placement of Dr. Diane K. Anderson, Vice President for Student Affairs from Western Michigan University. Dr. Croxall will present on this experience and insights gained at the Michigan ACE Women's 2017 Network Annual Conference this June.

TEL Systems, working with Information Technology and Physical Plant, continue installation of upgraded classroom technology, including document cameras, Blu-ray players, thin-client workstations and projection equipment. Over the next couple of weeks, they are targeting classrooms in Sherzer and Quirk.
From May 1 through July 10, there will be modifications to the traffic and pedestrian patterns on West Circle Drive, resulting from the Central Heating Plant project. West Circle Drive traffic flow will reverse direction and will exit on to Oakwood Street from Structure Drive. Anthony Duty 487.1000 is the project contact person for the Physical Plant.
The West Circle Drive traffic changes are indicated on the traffic plan map.
East Circle Drive is closed to all traffic for construction from Lowell St. to Pray Harrold, until August 10. This means that Best Drive, Ford Lot and Alexander Paid Lot are inaccessible. Please see below for accommodations:
East Circle Drive will remain open from the Ann St. entrance to the cul-de-sac in front of Snow Health Center. If you have any questions, please review the Pedestrian and Vehicular Traffic Map for detours around the project site or contact Physical Plant Project Manager Anthony Duty 487.1000.

All performance evaluations for AP, PT, PE, AH, AC, CA, and CS employees are due to be completed in the Simitive System by by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017. Please note that some University divisions may impose an earlier deadline. Be sure to check with your divisional leadership to make sure you are meeting your divisional deadline. To fully complete your evaluation(s) you will not only be evaluating the goals from 2016-2017; you will also be developing and inputting new goals for the 2017–2018 year.
Two in-person training sessions will be offered on Friday, May 19 and Thursday, June 8 in 110 Halle Library.
