Joseph Csicsila named Interim Department Head, English

Joseph Csicsila has been named Interim Department Head for English.   Joseph began his career at Eastern in 1996 as a Lecturer, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2000, and promoted again to Professor in 2010.  He served as Interim Department Head for English from 2010-2011, and also served as the Undergraduate Coordinator for the English Department from 2009 to 2013.  Joseph earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan – Dearborn, his Master of Liberal Arts, English, from Auburn University at Montgomery, and his Doctor of Philosophy, English, from the University of Las Vegas.  Please join us in congratulating him on this appointment!

Call for Proposals: eFellows Classroom Technology Grant Program

The eFellows program supports faculty and lecturers in obtaining the resources needed to successfully pilot innovative technology-based projects that enhances student-focused instruction in courses and curriculum. The overall outcome of this program is to improve and enhance student learning and the scholarship of teaching through the integration of appropriate technology.  Proposals are due October 30, 2017, at 5 p.m.  For additional information, including examples of successful application examples, please visit the Faculty Development Center website. 

Digital Marketing Workshop – November 17, 2017

An exciting half-day conference on getting the most out of digital marketing is taking place on November 17, 2017, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center. The workshop features industry experts, Eastern faculty researchers, and students presenting their ideas on how you may improve your marketing skills across multiple search and social platforms.  Cost for the conference is $50 and includes breakfast and lunch.  The deadline for registration is November 12, 2017.  Reserve your seat today!
