EMU is a participant in the John N. Gardner Institute's Gateways to Completion process which focuses on student success in foundation level courses. With success in such courses being a direct predictor of retention, EMU is committed to this comprehensive process that provides guidance and analytic tools designed to craft and implement plans for enhancing student learning and success in high-enrollment courses with historically high rates of Ds, Fs, Withdrawals, and Incompletes (DFWI rates).
Committees
EMU's G2C Task Force is charged with creating and subsequently implementing a plan for transforming the selected high DFWI rate courses over a three-year period. This task force comprises a Liaison Team, responsible for communicating with the University's Gardner Institute Advisor, a Steering Committee, and the chairs of the Course-Specific Committees. The task force meets monthly during the academic year, starting in the fall 2016 semester.
