For Parents

The Holman Success Center provides academic support for currently registered EMU undergraduates. Our services are free and voluntary. Drop-in tutoring is available for students who are interested getting help as they need it. Supplemental instruction (SI) is offered in several large general education classes. We also have academic success coaches who work on a one-on-one basis to help students optimize their academic performance. Finally, all students in the EMU Edge program are assigned to a peer mentor. If your student is struggling with their classes or transitioning into college you should refer them to our office, located in room G04 of Halle Library.

What parents have to say:

Words can’t express how wonderful the Edge program has been; a tremendous help to my first born. I was nervous to let my daughter go off on her own for the first time but due to the Edge Program, not only was my daughter allowed to move in a week early to get familiar with the campus, it was also a way to meet people. Oh, and the scholarship was a bonus! The Edge Program played a big part of my daughter making the Dean’s List since her first semester, along with having a 4.0 this last semester. Kudos to the Edge Program! — Mrs. Monique Johnson
