Congratulations, future Eagle! While you are exploring your college options, at EMU, we want to give you everything we can to help make your decision process easy and successful. Whether you're still making a decision or already "Chosen E," the college decision process can be exhausting, especially when it is difficult to be on campus and interact with colleges face-to-face.
With that in mind, we're excited to bring you the Flying HomE: Admitted Student Event Series. Rather than force hours of information into one day, we're providing you with multiple events featuring a variety of topics that we think will aid you in making a decision based on your individual needs and interests. You can attend a few events or ALL of them! We hope this format will allow you to focus on your priorities and give you information important to YOU.
These events will not only provide information but hopefully allow you to interact directly with faculty, staff, current students, and resources on campus that will impact you when you start your EMU career. Start building relationships now that will last throughout your college career.
Below, you'll see upcoming events available for registration and what we have planned for the coming months. We're excited to work with you and provide you with the information you need to Fly HomE to EMU! We can't wait to see you on campus, Eagle!
Tuesday, April 20, 6:00 p.m.
No one wants to use student loans to pay for college, but they can be a helpful tool to help fund your higher education if done correctly. We will cover the difference between subsidized loans and unsubsidized loans, parent loans, and private student loans. We will also give an overview of critical next steps if you decide loans are an option for your family.
Saturday, April 24, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Join us for our final Flying HomE series of the semester! This event is a day to Experience EMU and the benefits of joining our EMU family. This session is open for admitted students in their families to connect with future staff, faculty, and peers! During this session, you will get the opportunity to connect with current and future EMU students, ask questions to recent Alumni, learn about student involvement, and more!
Wednesday, April 28, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
If you missed our first session, we're back again with Assistant Director Becky Janes to talk about the ins and outs of Housing & Residence Life at EMU. Join this session to learn about how to apply for housing, which hall options are best for you, and what you can/can't bring! This session will begin with a presentation, and we'll end with a Q&A panel with housing students and staff.
You can see more about the housing options.
The EMU Self-Guided Tour is a great way to explore our campus on your own time! This "choose your own adventure" style tour gives you the freedom to customize a tour that fits your interest. Take the tour online in the comfort of your home OR come to campus and see the stops in person! There are 15 steps on our online campus map, with videos and photos explaining the ins and outs of our campus highlights.
OngoingDue to COVID-19, in-person tours are limited. However, we still have some amazing options for you to see our campus. Our virtual tours are a great way to see the campus from the comfort of your home. It's not your traditional campus visit, but you will still learn about EMU and the admissions process.
