MICUP-BEAT Scholarship

To support transfer students’ hard work and dedication, and increase the affordability of their time at EMU, MICUP-BEAT is offering a one-time, three-credit tuition waiver for qualifying students.

MICUP-BEAT services are available to you year-round and your academic success is our primary goal.

MICUP-BEAT Scholarship Objectives

• Ensure timely graduation.
• Encourage students’ academic tenacity.
• Embolden students’ development towards personalized career goals.

Eligibility

• Be a transfer student.
• Meet SAP requirements.
• Be a State of Michigan resident.
• Become a MICUP-BEAT participant.
  • Complete the cohort application and be accepted into the MICUP-BEAT program.
  • Actively engage in the MICUP-BEAT Canvas course shell.
  • Participate in the programming of Academic Success Partnerships, department in which MICUP-BEAT is housed.
  • Meet with an academic success coach at Academic Success Partnerships once a month during your first academic year at EMU.
• Earn 30 credits in 12 months at Eastern Michigan University, with a 2.5 or higher GPA.
  • You can complete your credits as you desire, but here are some suggestions:
    • 15 credits in the Fall, 15 credits in Winter (and vice versa)
    • 12 credits in the Fall, 12 credits in Winter, and six credits in the Summer
